Special Manpower Development Program : ウィキペディア英語版 | Special Manpower Development Program Special Manpower Development Program or SMDP is project undertaken by Ministry of Information technology of the Government of India aiming to impart training in VLSI design and related software to engineering students pursuing Masters or Doctoral programmes in the domains of Computer Science, Electronics, IT etc. ==History== SMDP or Special Manpower project was launched in the 9th Five-year plan to boost capability of India in the field of VLSI design and the development of software tools associated with it.The program is funded by Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. The main emphasis is on research and it is helping M.Tech and PhD students in completing their research projects on VLSI.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=SMDP in IISc )〕 A working committee set up by Department of Information Technology that includes members from various educational institutions has designed the curriculum for VLSI Design course for the Participating Institutions and has also suggested the EDA tools that needs to be installed for establishing VLSI design labs.
